Have delayed updating my issue as I'm a little embarrassed. Friend game over, rocked the bike back and forth a few times,  picked up the petrol can, pored fuel in the tank. Primed the carbies, hit the starter button. Firing on all four cylinders.

Yes laugh it up, call me what you like,  but it runs.
I've been riding Yamahas since 1976. Only other bike was a Honda CB900F 1978.
last bike ridden XS1100RH 83 1995 sold the bike to fund an O/S trip. Have a XS1100E for 12 yrs and ready to restore.

not firing on 1 & 4? I'd be more inclined to think you had an ignition problem.
check your spark on 1&4 before you rip the carby's out, it'll be quicker and easier to rule out first.

Mmmmmmmmm.....so cylinders 2 and 3 have fuel in their bowls ? Given the fuel lines split and feed 1 and 2..... and .....3 and 4 via a t-piece respectively.....you will need to break down the carbys and give them a clean and check the float needle valve isn t stuck and the float height is correct.
There are many post on here you can find regarding setting the float height as well as breaking down and cleaning the carbys via the search function tab.

Started the bike and only two cylinder's are firing. Checked the float bowls and a dribble of fuel came out of 1 and 4 . What should I check to see why there is no fuel in the bowls?
