What was the "budget"allowed for by the studio ?
It s not too late to get a "leading lady " to "perform" in the movie as well....that way.....when it s a bit tricky to see or hear what your doing in the background....she could be ....well.....ummm......."performing".....to keep us tuned in ! 
I think this scenario would also fit the "Film title" you ve called ....."On Her Back".
