Steve, the rear wheels off those bikes will be 16 inch, as I stated, but if you're stuck for choice, they will bolt straight onto your RH with no mods needed. All the axle spacers, brake caliper brackets are the same.
The gearing will be slightly shorter (about 4 - 500 rpm @ 100kph) but I've found that cornering clearance is no different due to the wider rim width (1/2 inch) that makes the tyre spread slightly wider.
The fronts are tha same size as the RH, so no problems in that area.
The only singular difference is that they are tubeless rims, which is a bit of a novelty over here, but makes trye changing a breeze, especially the rear one with no bead locks do wrestle with.

Errol, you are saying the US Midnight special and/or Maxim swirly wheels are different from the RH/5K7 wheels. I now know the rear is only 16in but are the fronts the same?

Talk to some of the larger wreckers before getting them from the states, several different yamaha models over many yrs use the same wheels

Steve, just keep in mind that the RH's weren't sold in the US of A. The wheels you're most likely looking at will be from an XJ1100 and they have a 16 inch rear swirly wheel, which would lower the gearing a bit.

I'm after a set of wheels for my RH. Mine have large pits in them that can't be buffed out.
There are some in the US but the postage is a killer. So I thought I would try here on the off chance that somebody on here might have a couple in better condition then mine they would like to part with.
