start with a normal drill and reduce the shank, grind a new cutting edge, then cut off reduced shank section so its short enough to fit between spoke flanges. drill bit has to be removed and replaced in drill chuck for each hole (keyless chuck is a must for this job), run drill backwards and you have an inside back to front LH countersinking bit, simples.

I surprised a couple with my two step drill that I formed to drill a sheet in place while drilling the backing for a thread. I even surprised I got it to work lol.
Looking forward to seeing your creation.

Looks like the perfect tool for the job Jeff. But I'll be taking the tight arsed bakyard engineerin approach by  converting a standard drill to run backwards

Gota love a well sharpened drill and solid clamp. I'd love a drill press :)

got another step done on the hub yesterday. Counter sinking the spoke holes.
Re-sharpened a drill to give it an almost square tip compared to normal one on the left to give the the holes an almost flat bottom

Then substituted the axle with 20mm threaded bar and nut to act as a clamp while drilling. 36 individually lined up holes later the external countersinks were done. you can also see one of the three locking pins i did earlier. to prevent the awesome power of the XS spinning the adaptor on the hub

Next it gets interesting doing the internal countersinks.....................
