CLICKY

pretty clean bike

" Up for auction is my1979 Yamaha XS1100 Special. It is in amazing original condition for a 34 year old bike. Only 10992 miles from new. It has original paintwork in fantastic condition. Chrome work is also great. Traveled just 10992 MILES since new, It rides ,stops, and handles like a brand new 1979 model. Original exhaust pipes in pretty good nick(no rust holes, dents, not perfect ,but pretty damn good) only unoriginal item on it is the carry rack with detachable padded sissy bar (see one of the pics). As I don't ride 2 up I don't use the padded  sissy bar. But it comes with the bike.
The inside of the petrol tank is clean as a whistle. The fork tubes are rust free. Carburetors have been cleaned an synced. New oil in engine, middle(gearbox) and shaft drive.
When I purchased the bike the fork seals were shot, new seals fitted and new front brake pads as they had oil contamination.
Although the original buckhorn handlebars look as trendy as "disco dancing" and somewhat "unwieldy" they are in fact quite comfortable and make for a relaxed upright ride.
This old girl has got heaps of grunt and no unexpected surprises.
The bike comes with the complete tool kit, kick starter lever (that is strangely attached to frame) as well as the owners manual and factory workshop manual.
Issues,,,,,
Seat has a couple of small tears that have been patched up pretty nicely (see pics).
There is a dent in front mudguard on the rear part (also see pics)
The cam chain adjuster leaks a couple of spots of oil after a  decent ride (very little, fixable, and no big deal).
If you want to know more about the bike call me on 0400565442 don't bother texting as I will ignore.
Can help with interstate  buyers in as much as I can be here when shipper wants to pick up.
Prefer direct deposit, not paypal

On 15-Dec-13 at 21:35:13 AEDST, seller added the following information:
It is currently registered in "special Interest" Tasmanian registration, similar to Victorian historic rego, Therefore not transferable, but if you were from interstate you could get an unregistered vehicle permit and ride home. It's up for for any trip."
