Hi Tim,

It sounds to me like your dimmer unit is goosed. Checkout clicky as Miti has a simple workaround.

thanks  xtian   I lept with out looking

 I found out the use of this  RLU    handles the head light   i found a thread about wiring the unit out   think the instument  globes are shot  maybe
former xs  owner  but still has an itch

You don't need the reserve lighting unit, it can be wired out.
When I get back to Sydney I will see if I can send the wiring changes for you but as ER said it has nothing to do with anything other than headlight control if low beam blows.

Tim, please define "everything works"? The RLU only controls the headlight. Nothing to do with the instrument lights.

Hi all   think I may have cooked my reseve light unit   every thing works bar the instrument lights

if any one has a spare i could borrow or buy  to test for a few days it would be much appreciated
