Both Retro on his FJ1200 and myself on the RH hooked up for a 0730 departure from Ronnie Macs in McGraths Hill and proceded via Bells Line of Road to our 0900 RV at The Golden Arches in Lithgow where we hooked up with Jone(s) (z)y on his E and Spike on his Honda 1200
Had Breakky of champions.....Hash Brown, Coffee and a hockey puck cleverly disguised as a McMuffin.
From there we followed the Jonezy itinerary...see the map in prevoius post..... Nice ride, little or no traffic. pleanty of twisties and "crests" in the road. enough to get the unwary (me) airbourne.
Stopped to kick tyres at the halfway mark and then onto the hallowed ground of Mount Panorama. We must have completed the slowest lap in history due to the very real threat of Mr Plod the spoil sport police man with his pearl handled radar gun.
Got photos but I cant get them up coz I'm a techno quambie.
The only casualty of the day was Spike losing his number plate somewhere between Lithgow and Bathurst.
Had a counterie at Jamie Duggins Irish pub?
? great feed. Talked more bike stuff.
Then said our farewells to Jonezy and Spike.
Myself and Tony headed back along the Great Western Highway to Lithgow. fuelled up (damn small tank on the RH...no legs) and had a leisurely unimpeded fang back down Bells Line of Road.
Waved goodbye to Tony at Richmond and headed home to the Northern Beaches.
Got home in one piece (me and the bike) after nearly 500kms and a whole heap of fun.
Thanks to Jonezy for putting this one together. and for the "blokes" who contributed to a great day of motorcycling.
The RH has a distinct power shortfall and is not quite as comfortable when compared to my E model, but it made the journey
Looking forward to the next Sydney hook up ride day.
Cheers
Eddy
