Any Idea on the "brand" of Turbo?

That looks like a project in waiting.

I'll go 36L for yours, Tony.
Mathh's turbo bike had a modified tank on it, but it had been widened and didn't look too different from the original unit, until you stopped ogling the exotic motor, chassis, monoshock, wheels, forks, and all the really trick bits, and you looked at it properly.

Hard to believe that it's a 36 litre tank! (that's where I snatched my guess from)

It would appear that the top part of an original tank was given a lobotamy..........then had side pieces of sheet metal built up from the bottom section and then reattached to the cranium....for want of a better description.
Must hold a shiteload of fuel tho...........would love to know the total litreage.
Gives you somewhere to rest your chin and breathe in the fumes on those long hauls.
Lets have a competion on who s the closest guess to how much it holds........

Im down for 33 litres.

PS....if your already know from previous shared info...keep it to yourself and see how close others get.
Maybe in a week or so we can ask retro / tony to fill the thang with water from a measureing jug to give us the definitive total.

The "big" tank that is referred to on the dotcom site is our normal 24 litre tank fitted to all the Standards over here. As Jeff stated, the normal tank over there was only 20 litres.
Sound like you've got a custom long range tank that was built for your outfit, Tony. The normal go with rigs is to fit an auxiliary tank in the chair and transfer the fuel over to the bike tank with an electric pump.

As for the photos, just stick them in your bucket and we'll steal them from there, mate.

Vetter .... (windjammer fairing ) was one company that accessorised the yank xs1100. I remember a well kept one of these up for sale on USA ebay a while back with the owner supplying the original 20 litre yank tank as an extra....as it had the european/asian pacific 24 litre tank installed. But nothing like the tank being described in question.
Sounds like a home made piece of art.......would love to see a piccy of it tho. :P
Tony..if your still having issues trying to upload pics on here..can you add a pic of this tank you speak of....to your photo bucket account and we can up load from there. ;D

there was a model that had the larger tank fitted on the standard,
could have been from the venture (sp) model
that was fully kitted out with panniers and full fairing
but I think they only came out in the states,
im sure others would know more.

Hi Tony, Maybe it has been modified?
I've thought of modifying mine to a larger size so I would be keen to try it out? I will give you a call tomorrow.

Hi Does anybody know if a large tank came out with these bikes.
The reason i ask is when i purchased this outfit it came with this larger tank its the same length and width but is 300 high all round.
It has the same flap and fuel cap and the same fuel tap holes it even has the fuel gauge sensor in it.
If anybody wants it its free to a good home.
If you need more info call me on 0247302047
