Finally got onto the dogs. First with motor upside down I took off the sump plate.

Also took off the clutch case cover and the gear selector cover. I'm not sure this is the easiest or best way but I'll show what I did and then I can sit back and let the people in the know how it should be done:)

When the gear selector cover is off this is what you see.

On the clutch cover side you have

Not wanting to split the case at this stage. Just doing the dogs with the dremel and see how it goes. Will post pics shortly:)

The front end on that pic is a zx12r if memory serves me correctly. Was a bit of a mongrel to fit up but worked well when done. I'm putting original forks on this one though as you can see from the polishing pic.

Decided it needed a soda blast so got on with that and moved it to my proper workshop instead of in the mud;) You'll notice the different background from here.

All got a bit to hard and too late and... blah blah blah so I decided some bits needed polishing instead lol

Now onto the dreaded motor.  Took it out and turned her over.

My 1979 XS1100 has had a few issues of late so I thought I'd pull it down and give it a bit of a freshen up:)

The biggest problem I've had to date is that it's jumped out of second gear a few times so decided that would be the priority. I've had to do the dogs in the past of  some modified bikes that I'd done the heads up on etc and they couldn't handle the extra hp so figured this would be a cinch lol!
