Mate, I'm using SBS sintered pads on mine. They give excellent stopping power, especially in the wet, compared to the old school pads. But, I also have braided lines and drilled discs which may accentuate the power a tad. Mind you, I did swap in a set of my old pads temporarily and I did notice a big reduction in stopping power. So much so that I changed them back over after 2 trips to work.

Brake pads

Due to leaky fork seals when I got my bike the brake pads had got a real dousing in oil. I have tried cleaning them in all sorts of solvents and they look clean but when re fitted they keep drawing out oil from deep within. So time to change them. I notice on ebay there are a variety of newly made ones available, kevlar based, metalic based and even the odd new old stock ones. The kevlar and metalic varieties are much cheaper than the old school (I'm guessing asbestos) ones but what I'd like to know is are the cheaper ones as good? Anybody using them?, any comments appreciated.
