the last one I did was shrink/press fitted and scotch keyed in 3 places and still going strong. if you want to weld as well would be up to you, personally I wouldn't weld but that's what makes us individuals

Do you mean like what I was saying about making a spoked ring to be shrink fitted to a turned down XS11 hub? or to make the rear hub from scratch,  would be fairly exxy I'd imagine

Jonzey go and talk to Geoff again, his mate Yurgy has got a CNC machine that is capable of machining new hubs front and rear if a group of us were to order a set each the cost would be viable ,he can set it up to drill the spoke holes as well.he has allready made some new front spoked hubs for other bikes

Hey Jonezy,

I'm interested in a rear hub only.  I have a couple of spare wheels.

Dale your lead turned out to be fruitful, not an XS650 Hub but one off a 500 that'll still work, just needs spacers behind discs disc centre diameter and speedo drive are same.
next winters project has a green light
Is there anyone else interested in wire spoked rear wheel set up?.......you need to supply an XS1100 back wheel and your own front hub and rims and lacing for both. I'm only going to sort the bare rear hub ready for lacing
Only early days yet, but if I can get a quote from engineering machine shop with numbers it could reduce price a bit.

Thanks for the lead Dale

Eddy
the 650 wheel is for the front, my plan involves a sacrificial back wheel from which the hub will be chopped out and a          spoked "ring" will be shrink fitted to. Like the one I did before that chrisso now owns
