looks like a lot of us use those gauges from Z1. :)

had mine for about 12 years now and absolutly no dramas.

$57 now I see >:( paid $99 for them all that time ago. Still, great value. They come with full instuctions and adaptors.

Highly reccommended. ;D

hey rhodie,
I think your confusing the mixture screws
and the sync screws, the mixture screws are adj on all
4 carbs, there are only 3 sync screws, you adj 1 and 2,
4 and 3 (no 3 is fixed) and then left and right banks.

Hey Coops,

Just remember that if your carbies have not been stuffed around too much, the mixture screw on #3 is set solid at the factory. That is so that you tune the rest of the carbs to #3 with your colourtune. Then you balance all four with the vacuum guages. Lastly, adjust idling as desired. Many years ago a bike shop stuffed my #3 mixture screw completely, because they were unaware that it was fixed. (I replaced that carb totally) So now I have to adjust all 4 mixtures when I do a tune up. I agree, it is easier to have 2 colourtunes.

Cheers.

Same here,  these are what I've always used,  even came with screw-in adapters for various other manifolds,  notice the adjustable damping,  lets you get the needles down to a mm or two of flicker.  To pre-sync the butterflys you can just partially cover the tiny fuel hole 1/3rd to half way by eye,  you'll find that the sync will be pretty bang on later with gauges

Mine are getting old now, make sure you get some spare regulator tube, you will need it, mine is starting to get a bit loose and an extra colortune if you can, using 2 at once really helps.

I just got the carbtune kit from the UK. $130.00 Aussie dollars and it included case and colour tune kit.
Bloke in NSW sells the carbtune for $180.00 without the extras. Hooked it up to try it out and the coil blew  :( Will see how it works this weekend

the way I used to do it long before I bought gauges or found these sites was to adjust all the butterflies with a round wood tooth pick,, just loose enough on all 4  so a tiniest bit of movement of the pick, then adjust the idle when running,,

worked for me when going thru mine  over the years
