Hey Geoff

I loved your brother's ride report, it brought back memories of all the kms I did in the NT.  It makes me wonder if he could have done it quicker in the old days because in the 70's & 80's when I lived there, there was no speed limit on the open highway.  Fuel consumption then may have been his main concern along with having less time to see wandering stock.

it,s my older brother,, 29th on a world invite ride,, not to shabby a run either,,

he got an invite from his 3000klm in 24 hrs :o :o :o ,, cods wallop I hear you say ::) ::),,

FYI
A 1978 XS 1100 finished 61st in the 2013 Iron Butt Rally.
 Scott Thornton,1978 Yamaha XS1100, 11,397 miles 59,763 points

The Iron Butt Rally is held every two years and is 11 day, 11,000 mile plus marathon.
