it,s in the harness,,,,if you pull the plug in the headlight you should find the wire,, there is a red with a yellow trace,, and a yellow with a red trace,, make sure you follow the right one,, red with yellow trace

Thanks Steptoe,

Had the yellow wire figured out, but where did the red one come from? Makes sense now I have seen a photo.
I've been riding Yamahas since 1976. Only other bike was a Honda CB900F 1978.
last bike ridden XS1100RH 83 1995 sold the bike to fund an O/S trip. Have a XS1100E for 12 yrs and ready to restore.

here you go mate,,,  although I have come across the pass button being "bypassed" because of a short thru the button



the red and the yellow are the ones your chasing

Left hand Switch Controls

Hi all,

Need a big favour. Has anyone a photo of how the wiring goes inside the control switch housing. Big mistake forgot to take photos. I'm not sure how the wiring connects to the pass switch as there are no wires connected.
Please don't tell me to check the manual as I'm not sure how the wiring diagram works.
