one of the adjustments to do to my new STD is waving an eye over a bent front end,,,

a head light this far off square can mean only 2 things,, either the triple tree is twisted or bent fork legs,,

first and easiest to check is forks for straight,, simply undo the clamping bolts and turn the legs 360 degrees, either you won,t be able to or you,ll see the wheel move substantialy,, as was my case,

to check the triple tree square pull the fork leg thru and free of the top clamp and see how much of the top of the leg you can,t see,,

next is to straighten them, I have on loan from work a pipe bender fortunately,, other than that a trip to an engeneering shop will be in order

remove the leg from the assy and roll on a sheet of glass to get the high spot
this was taken after about 2 mm was taken out of the bend

then insert into the bender and apply a pound or two

then keep going from bender to glass till you get it roll easily across the glass

one more project for the rally trip done,

PS a bit of a video will follow
