Figured it was a long shot but some times I like flapping those gums  ;)

The central coast sounds great for those that actually want to catch fish  :-*

Looks like we might be heading North of the rock fall to where the Turon meets the Mac. Randwick hole sounds ok. I see a Rd/trail called Root hog, only a two our ride from here but not sure that will get us accross the river ?? One map shows accross another shows not. Tourist beuaru said it does go accross. I have a feeling they may be wrong but at this point we are planning to try.
We have mixed reports about fishing this area but if you know any other places in the Central West for lure fishing the Cod I am all ears :)

wouldn't bother fishing in the Mac river   the black dog gate area is a big open grassed area  there was a thunder box and water tank there but that was alot of years ago    give the bathurst tourist info offcie a hit  , the bathurst end is of the track is  sort of maintained  for access to the camping areas  keep an eye on the weather reports if you go in it does get cold out there the weather can change fast ,rode throught light snow one year that was scarey  .Park rangers do patrol out there there was a camp fee  of a few bucks per vehicle  hit the tourist office web site if it exsists

Thanks Tim
Chatting with with my mate he is keen on coming from the Bathurst end. If you could recommend a good fishing camp site that end it could be very helpful.
I have finally worked out on the map were the track is split by a rock fall so I am getting some where  ::)
It seems from Bathurst to Monaghans Bluff (rock fall) should be about 50-60 km. Didn't think that would be that hard but maybe I am not taking the terrain into account?

Hi Bretts
ive been on the bridle track a few times back in the 80's  for the side  car clubs rally   the bridle  track an old cattle track wide enough for two horses to pass side by side  when being  walked by the bridle  strap
ok what the vid shows mainly the hill end of the track . I've riden from the rally site  black dog gate to the hill end pub  a few times ralley supplies :P  ive done it on a three wheeler and once on the slabby
ithe vid shows basicly what you'l encounter sheer drops . pot holes the bike will dissappear in to  the occassional wild animals, roos cows sheep   if youre thinking of doing it on the xs  it will be a long tiring ride    if you are going to ride it which end  are you going to attack  it from    Bathurst or the hill end pub

After a weekend at Ben Chifly Dam the talk was of next weekend out at the Bridle Track, It runs from Bathurst to Hill End  and often Follows the Macquarie River. Some time ago the track was split in two by some major rock falls. I remembered seeing this pic

And since the Misses was not keen on tagging along with the kids I thought I should just take the XS1100. The mate thought that was a laughable idea and I would have all soughts of trouble. Just for curiosity I was looking for some footage of the Track as I had never been there and come across this.

Looks like fun, What ya reckon Jonesy  :P

Ps at the begining of the video he passes the rock fall. Lets see the mate do that in the Toyota  ;D
