So Steve, what was the bottom line - without the powdercoating??

Lots of people will be interested in the $$$$ factor

Awesome. Thanks everyone. I will use these guys. I'll be pulling them apart since I plan on replacing oil seals etc so I'll let you know what it costs without the powder coating:)

Hey Raf, I would definitely recommend the guys at "Rad Hard Chroming". My fork stems were very pitted and the lowers were a mess as well. These guys cleaned them up as new if not better and they applied a clear powdercoat to lowers which looks a treat. All up including freight was somewhere around the $800 mark, the only set back they had was with the humidity at the time. They quoted 3 weeks, but it blew out to 6 weeks as the powdercoat had some sort of reaction to the humidity and they were not happy with the result. They waited until the humidity dropped and redone the job and in a word - awesome.   ;D

Yeah I agree Errol. Unfortunately most of th ones in the states are pitted too. As I want to rechrome the guards I might look into rechroming the tubes. Hot to be careful though. A lot of chromers only do 'decorative chrome' rather than the decent stuff.

hey raf,
that mite be ur best bet, getting them rechromed
im sure some1 on here has had it done, but i cant remember who off hand.

Mate, if no luck here, look on the Bay. Can't go past the prices asked, despite the shipping prices, Cheap as chips compared to here in OZ.

Looking for A set of xs1100 fork inner tubes. I have 2 sets here but both are too pitted for a 'spot on' rebuild! Any offers please?
