You are right!  Most people have no idea that the XS was modified slightly for the American market and rereleased as the XJ1100.  But to my knowledge there are really only cosmetic differences  between the XJ and XS1100s?

Hi L.J.
Welcome to the Aussie Xsive world. I'm guessing that your bike is an XJ1100. Hopefully, you've had a good read of the info available on here. It's a virtual XSive encyclopedia online plus, if you have any questions, just fire away, as there is a great bunch of guys onboard here that will help in any way they can.
It's an extra bonus that your bike sounds like it is running ok to start with, so we're all looking forward to seeing some pics of it. (Pics are porn here)

Ok, just worked out how to put up a photo.  I also just put a marker on the map to show where I am and noticed Scarfey up north.  Will definitely get in touch.

Hi Everyone,
Finally got around to saying hi on the forum.  I bought an XS1100 1981 earlier in the year and have finally registered it and am cruising to work each day.  Its the american model without the oil cooler on the front.  Apparently they also came with crash bars and freeway pegs as standard to try to eat into the Harley market.  Anyway, its in good nick with only 16000miles on it.  Looking forward to chatting to fellow owners.
