I bought a set of these for my 1957 Enfield  - $70.00 delivered....no idea if he has anything suitable for XS 11's but could be worth investigating as he is a subsidiary of the UK Tec Shocks group .  The shocks I got appear to be good quality.  I can't really comment on performance given the machine they are fitted on!

I ended up ordering a set from YSS, after alot of looking around I found Ikon and YSS had comparable items at much the same cost. I was looking at alloy body with adjustable pre load and dampening.
That's this in the Ikon $645
 7614
and this in YSS $600 from the manufacturer it would have cost $1000 from the Australian supplier  :o

RZ362-TRL

The main difference between them is that the YSS has a 36 mm cylinder and 600 clicks of dampening adjustment and the Ikon has a 22mm cylinder and 4 clicks of easy acsess adjustment.
I had a long chat with a knowledgeable chap at Ikon and it seems that he thinks the 36mm cylinder is an over kill for the XS1100 and is just adding more weight and will look bulky on the bike. Well I figured going to alloy body I have already saved weight and the extra weight will be negligible and I might like the bulky look. He did have me wondering if the 4 clicks of dampening adjustment would be more useful than the 60 clicks on the YSS but my over riding need to get more bang for my buck led me to go for the YSS.
I was going to get 20mm added to the length as suggested by Mal Pitman but as I am considering going to A Bussa front forks which is shorter so I thought I better not. The Yss should come with 10mm height adjustment but not sure yet. I just noticed it comes standard from the American site but is $100 extra on the Aussie one so I am double checking with the supplier I ordered from.
I have not got any chrome covers or springs which kept the price lower as well.

Hey Jonesy,

I paid $380 in 1999 for he same shocks.  the extra price was for chrome springs. I put on the chromies and used the black springs on the RH.

So i guess that $575 is not all that bad 13 years on.

Its been a long time time since I bought a pair of bike shocks. Ikon quoted me $575 deliverd when purchased direct from Ikon. Is this a reasonable price to pay? Thats for the all chrome 7610-SP8 shocks

Thanks for the replies fellas
Both Fred and Steptoe give good recommendations for both Hagon and Ikon
Christians link to Ikon looks good too
And with clutch' comments on part prices and being rebuildable has swayed me towards Ikon

Clutch
I think the shocks are original, not koni, there off the 581 "parts" bike which is loaded with original OEM bits
I havent even removed the shocks yet to see if they are rebuildable.

Jonesy, if you have the Koni's and they are just leaking with no visible damage to the rods, ring Ikon and they will ship you the seals as a kit for around $50.
when I did mine there was a small rust spot on one rod right at the end of the stroke which I cleaned up with 1200 & 2000 wet/dry paper, but the seals were the main fault as they had just worn smooth/gone hard.

My KONIs (Read IKON now) still going strong and no foreseeable problems after 145,000 klm.

A lot of those Klms done two up with my rather svelte 136 kg and wife at a paltry 70 kg.

Not only work well but look good too. Chrome still buffs up to a high shine.

I have hagons on mine, have done for 2 or 3 yrs now with no issues.

we did get the heavier than std springs {at a nominal price increase} to take the wieght of 2-up and trailer and outfit.

std springs would be adequate for normal operation,

Any opinions, good or bad, on back shocks your currently using or used in the past.
The original shocks (rebuildable?) off 581 have blown the seals since I put 'em on the Bourke bike and I'm looking to replace with a similar old school style with the chrome cap at the top. Hagon do one I like the look of.
