Looks like I will be a no show for the rally. I have to leave for India on business  on the Tuesday and I don't want to be trying to do the return trip in 1 day or leave a day early. I'd be wasted on the business trip too, which could be disastrous for my career given I am doing 3 cities in 5 days and will need all the strength I can muster.
I guess I'll see you all next year.

got the carby's off 581 at the moment, gunna swap out float needle and seat in No:4 to see if I can sort the flooding problem, and replace the oil I dropped on the weekend, not much really. can be on the road in a couple of hours

In answer to your question Steptoe, time is fast running out, I'm fairly sure that my bike will be on the road tomorrow and if the weather is kind over the next few days, I should be able to rack up some kms running it in and checking things out.  Enough time to then change the oil & filter.  I'll go shopping for some new saddle bags and some Draggin Jeans and hopefully I will be ready

All dressed up and nowhere to go

rolling thru mackay last friday night with another compay driver,, he says, you go on holidays friday coming don,t you??

my first reply was I bloody hope not, to much to do,,, but he,s right,

so inside the last week, I,ve still got rebuild the front brake system, fuel inline filters, put the cruise footpegs on,  put a finished surface on the trailer able to take undercoat,,that,s going to take the time,, {it,ll go to bourke with undercoat} and it will be drying on the road ::)needs wiring,  then axles and wheels,, and still be away for a couple of nights,,

hows every body elses preperations going

Lou and I have teamed up and will be in Orange Thursday night.  At this stage I / we plan to stop at the house of friend of mine in Orange {subject to approval by Lou}

We will be at Maccas for a 08:30 off on Friday morning.

Hi there mass panic here engine in frame on weekend hope running this weekend and safety cert Monday..
still coming even if not a goer.
Just wondering how many Queenslanders will be on route on Friday . Will be leaving coast early Friday 3 or 4  am and see how far we get.
