hope my "jonesy + 2" was among the 15?

must be a lot of people carting there own food and grog. The catering deal on offer really is a good one, surprised so few have taken it up.

You're right on the money, people who are prepared to go the extra mile for the benefit of all of us need to be respected and given a fair go!!

Hope it didn't sound like a rant, Paul, but I was really surprised by the lack of correspondence.
It is only a few weeks away now.

I was over at Steptoe's place today "talking trailers"  and at lunch, I found out that only 15 people had confirmed their attendance at the rally (for catering purposes), which by all the feedback on this topic seems to be a massive understatement of people intending to get there.
I've helped organise functions like this previously during my time with the Ulysses club, and it just doesn't work if you get 2 dozen people prebook, then have 150 people turn up on the day hoping to pay there and then and expect everything to fall into place. It doesn't work like that, especially in a provincial town on  a Friday, or Saturday afternoon. These things have to be organised beforehand if they are to work, so I'm just asking that if you are planning on attending, and would wish to partake in consumption of morning fryups, lunchtime BBQ's and nibblies in general (meaning that you don't have to cart a heap of food to the site, or go into town for a feed), please at least let Geoff and Michelle know what your plans are. (If the deposit thing is a problem, just at least let them know you're coming)
They worked their behinds off last year to make it the most enjoyable event that it turned out to be, and with a little bit of forewarning, they'll put in the hard yakka to do it again, and help make it enjoyable for all attending.

I'll probably be in the doghouse (with Minni) for putting this up, but I'm just trying to prevent any hassles at the rally.

BTW, I'll be there from Friday morning thru to Sunday morning. Unfortunately, I'll have to pass up the river cruise as work beckons (threateningly) once again, so I'll be off in the Am.

I've made arrangements to spend the Friday night before the Rally in a mates home in Orange so anyone passing through can pick up an old pensioner and help him on his way.

I've had training wheels fitted to my Zimmer Frame

the thought crossed my mind if the guys that are doing the run over 2 days and have a plan could maybe put up a 2nd day leaving point,, a fuel servo or a macas or such and a time, that way it can be listed on other places and a larger group could be put together to do the final ride into bourke,, { if your interested } I know a larger group slows the ride down, longer fuelling and some people wanting a smoke and such, think it over

myself and Mrs step are making it a 2 week run or I,d start it off
