I too had my system ceramic coated some 10 years ago ...It has stood up to my treatment very well - I reckon chrome would have rusted by now. There are benefits in the finish making the system run cooler as I recall.
this is a recent pic

Dan...........i ve had ceramic coating done on a 4 into 1 exhaust system........and i was very impressed with the result.
From memory it was nt too expensive........and keeps its looks very well over the years.
The process was explained to me at the time with the advantage that it coated both outside and inside at the same time.
I would nt hesitate to recommend this as a finish for the outside as well .........as it is an enduring coating.

Ceramic coating sounds expensive, might be cheaper to get some double walled headers made? hmm that sounds expeensive too. Personally I dont mind the look of a lightly yellowed or blued header piper.........also another state of tune indicator as well
