You mean the grab handle on the rear of the seat? That was there when I got the bike (apologies if I'm missing something). I would have thought these were on most bikes?

I do have a Givi rack system which I'm modifying to fit up, but as you can see from this photo...

... the side panniers are waaaaaay too high. I'm going to make up a bracket to lower them a bit, but thats on the 'to do' list.

The exhaust is a stock set of headers, but since the mufflers were rusted out, I found a set of Hooker Tuned Flow exhaust mufflers meant for a Harley. They make a beautiful exhaust note, but I've made a baffle for the end to quieten it down a tad for the roadworthy. I'll come up with a more permanent solution later on, just have to see how it goes.
Still in the process of tuning these ZRX carbies, so its hard to say whether they're improving or taking away from the performance of the bike. I mostly got them for the look of them, since they were so similar to the stock exhaust muffler length.

G'day all,

Well, I've finally gotten around to finishing up the old 1981 XS1100H. Been neglected for far too long, I kind of gave up a couple of years back due to carburettor related frustrations (my housemate at the time used to get a laugh at me cracking the melon while trying to tune the original carbs). Decided it was time to make my primary bike the XS1100 this year, so the FJ1200 is sold, and the XS is roadworthy. Still yet to get the touring gear sorted, but this is her so far (apologies if the photos are a bit big):

Its been a long time coming, but I can finally get on and ride it about. Spent enough money on it, time to reap the benefits. Over the last few years, I've stripped it back to bare frame, repainted everything, rechromed all that can be chromed, rebuilt the motor with an 1179cc Wiseco big bore kit, and fitted her up with a set of '03 ZRX1200 carbies. The carburettors would have to be the best thing I've done to it, no more throwing screwdrivers when tuning it...

I still have a bunch of photos from the restoration sitting around, I might have to try and dig some up at some point. Good to meet ya all, seems to be a wealth of knowledge on this site from a good group of people.

Cheers.
