Something was bothering me about this bike and could nt quite put my finger on it until now.
To my knowledge this model 1978E....... released worldwide........... never had double pinstriping on the sidecovers. It would suggest that it has undergone restorations / repainted at some stage.
I would also suggest it has had a new seat cover as this looks like an aftermarket version.
The gauges have been top mounted as opposed to the factory fitament of below.
Not to mention......there no oil cooler.
Nothing wrong with any of this ( aside from the lack of an oil cooler ).......... just points of observation.

I recall this one for sale on EBAY US about a year ago.........sold for around the $4,000 mark from memory.
The US model has never appealed to me with the polished cases, raised badging, different handlebars and smaller tank.
I think our import was the better looking and more practical model.
But it is in excellent condition AND has the original pipes.
Gauges are "Top" mounted.
It s worth.......... what a buyer on the market wants to pay for it.I don t think people will be falling over themselves for the "BIN" price.
On todays market i would put it at about $6,500 to $7,000 only because it has the original exhaust.
Yet another dream price saga about to unfold.
Also....... as there are more of these examples for sale... it becomes more of a buyers market.
