Standard Speedo needed to borrow
« Reply #1 on: April 22, 2012, 04:27:30 PM »
Hello,

I was wondering if any of you guys would have a spare speedo (one sitting on a shelf somewhere) for a standard that I could borrow for a couple of days? I have been trying to sort out the needle jumping sindrone on my bike by replacing the gear drive hub on the axle, I have put all 3 hubs that I own on the bike with no difference in needle behavior and have also replaced the speedo cable with a new one, so it leads me to thinking that the speedo may be the problem and I don't have a spare one to test my theory. What is most confusing is that when I connect a drill to the cable and run it through from 0 - 110kph the needle is as smooth as anything and does not pulsate at all. I am willing to pay all postage costs involved (including return postage of your unit) to comfirm my suspicions that the problem is in the head unit.
Would like to get this annoying problem sorted ASAP as I have already been booked for speeding (10K's over) and don't need anymore fines.
Cheers: Phil
