Hi everyone,
The bike sold last night for $2,856 after 26 bids. There were about 60 people "watching". I also had several people contact me after the sale who had missed bidding for various reasons and were willing to pay up to $3,500 (although money in the bank is the only real measure.)
The guy who bought the bike lives in Brisbane, picked it up today in the heavy rain (without his wet weather gear!) He is a really great guy who has had an XS1100 before and really appreciates them. He is also keen on the national rally so I am happy the bike has gone to a good home.
Thank you again to all the members of this forum. It is a wonderful community filled with such enthusiastic and helpful guys.
PS: Funny/not so funny story. Literally a minute before the new owner turned up the little button from the starter some how fell out. He walked up to the garage to see me crawling around on the floor looking for it. In the end after 3 of us crawling around we couldn't find it (I think it must have got caught in the bike somewhere somehow!) Typical murphy's law. Anyway we made a quick renegotiation and all is good - except he now doesn't have a button
He will be posting on the forum so make him feel welcome and if anyone has one of the buttons I'm sure he will be very thankful.
Again thanks guys!
