Good to hear you had an XScellent day out! Your last comment about being able to sit down comfortably at journeys end reminded me of a ride I tagged along with on Australia day 2010. My son invited me along for a run via Mt Mee / Nebo / Gloruis and finally Mt Mee again after doing the loop.
Can you pick the odd bike out in this pic?

Mines the one on the right BTW.
Phils is the green ZX10 with the flags on the mirrors.
Was your ride a similar scenario?

Weekend past completed The Great Alpine Road in Victoria, it was great. We started in Launching Place, pie & coffee stop at Erica (yummy), refuel at Bairnsdale for bikes & riders. Then on to Bruthen, where the real fun started, awesome road to Omeo. After 440kms, we camped the night in caravans at Omeo caravan park. Cooked up a BBQ on the camp kitchen, & devoured drinks around the fire.
Next morning headed up to Hotham on another awesome road, got to the top, where it was a mild 14C, but more importantly dry.
The road down to Harretville was much more demanding, narrower & very twisty, great fun. Had lunch at Whitfield. The took on the Whitfield to Mansfield road, this is a must do road, wide, good surface, good visibility, virtually no traffic.
Finished off with The Black Spur, then home. My XS1100E did not miss a beat, many were impressed with the way it went around corners. Although the front tyre got bloody hot at times, a Michelin Activ. Needless to say, I had the oldest bike, didn't have to worry about where the next petrol station was, & could still sit down after the ride. :D
