BAck on the site after an absence. Was getting my feet under the desk in a new job.

Had a tinker with the bikes with Jeff and Dennis last weekend and really looking forward to the long haul.

Thanks for the heads up, Jonesey.  :D At least now, I know beforehand and can carry some with me. As opposed to finding out on the way down and being stuck somewhere.
See you there!

Just rang the servo and no go on the 24 hr opening.
Might have to carry a bit from moree or get one of the other QLD boys to plant some fuel some where for you.
One time travelling to Alice we planted a bike at the 47km to port pirie sign. there a good reliable marker
The 5km to brewarrina sign might be an option, Just a thought.

Does anyone have info on fuel availability at Brewarrina in the early hours?
Due to my workplace deciding to change our roster format, I may be doing a Friday night flit down to see you guys. I'd just been forced (through mutual agreement, of course) to take my Annual leave and they have no respect for public holidays either so I'm going to take a punt on it to get down early Saturday morning. Any cracks about the tired looking red-eyed guy will be greeted with contempt and appropriately replied to. so I'm going to have to do a weekender of it, I think. The rest of the run down is pretty straightforward but that last stretch is a bit of a worry. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I just can't miss this! The first rally. there'll never be another first Xs1100 National Australian  Rally.

Hey, I'm still planning to be there, just have a few problems with the girl, need to perform some surgery or maybe a temp transplant, have ordered a gasket set and will look at my spare eng asap to see if I can get it running with my carbs.

Thanks for the offer Jonesy but I need more than the head gasket, leaking at base of the barrels, real annoying as it looks way worse than it actually is.

When were you blokes from QLD planning to be passing through Walgett?

Good news!!!  Spare engine is running and planing the transplant for this weekend, (seems fitting as it's Easter) , need to get it in and test run but sounds heaps better than the old girls heart at the moment.
will get back to you blokes from QLD closer the the time but still planning to head out that way.

OK by me 400Km from home, 170 to Nyngan [assuming we're overnighting there. Otherwise 375 Km further, Dubbo to Kidmans, not a good look out there when the sun gets low and the Roos, Camels, Emu's, Donkeys etc get high]

it's going to touch and go for us :o this job up here is really starting to grow whiskers, dragging out worse than 5 wet weeks  :-\, but there'll be mountains falling over everywhere to get it done once it clears up, then there's the move into the new house and 4 bay shed, {will become a travellers motorcycle hospital/w/shop}, and somehow squeeze a 2000klm ride into the long w/end

BUT we'll be there, with bells on,
Jonesy reckons he's going to come up and drag us down if not,
I'm sure there'll be many long detailed chats over the w/end,, really looking forward to it

HEY EV ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,when can I start counting down ;D  or am I not allowed

I am really looking forward to this XS 1100 adventure, one of my mates may also be a contender for the rally he will be on a 750 Kawasaki but he used to own an XS1100.As my sidecar will have plenty of room to spare i will bring some tools and a few spare parts just in case they are needed. It will be good to meet some of you guys in person.
