I too was planning to stay Sunday and return Monday, was thinking maybe head out via Mudgee, up to Walgett and on to Bourke.
I hope we don't get rain cause I was thinking of just taking a tent.

Ay mate good to hear, someone to chill with sunday arvo with a couple a quiet ones, as for walgett to bourke I'd assume fully sealed and looks to have at least 3 more kinks in it than Nyngan to bourke.....woo hoo

anyone know what the Walgett to Bourke road is like?
just had a look on Google Earth street view - looks ok....
I'm thinking
Brisvagis - Warwick - Goondiwindi - Moree - Walgett - Bourke....

That was the plan (couple of years ago we did the 1300 Km Canberra Broken Hill in a day, I was a bit younger than 63 then)

I could be talked into riding the 520 Km to Nyngan on the first day.

That only leaves 211 km on the Saturday morning to run into Kidmans Camp North of Bourke.

A detour through Dubbo to meet up with others instead of short cutting through Tottenham is on the cards also.

I would probably run home in a day though, I'm a bit short on annual leave.

Hey Scarfey,

Do you plan on doing this ride in the one day?

have talked to the owners, the cabins that sleep 5, contain a queen bed and 3 single bunks,, as it stands ATM there are 2 heads booked in so far, 2 heads to go, can book another cabin if numbers increase,,  works out about $30 a night each

tents site are "when you rock up"

looks like a good choice with kidmans camp. In cobar today was talking to a bourker....I dunno what do you call a born n bred Bourke boy?
Anyway he reckons its a good place to go in bourke. far enough out of town not to be hassled and have stuff damaged by drunks in town. but not only that a very good spot to chill out and the host is a good bloke to boot.
Downside is he reckons the nyngan bourke- leg is about as boring as you'll find......sounds like it'll be lay on the tank and give it to it. now to index those plugs ;D
