that's neat mate,
wonder how the costs stack up with patches versus screen print shirts,
and is any body in that line of work that might be able to tell us or help out

I bought my first XS [sadly destroyed in a shed fire in 1997] with a terrible rattle in the engine.

The guy who sold it to me said the engine was stuffed. Turned out the carbys were out of balance making the primary chain slap on the inside of the engine / gearbox.

Balanced them using part no 3 x 2 (a short piece of wood to hold the tank up) and some gauges, noise disappeared and I did 36,000 Km on that supposed stuffed engine before she disappeared in a puff of smoke.

its all good fellars, just gets disheartning at times,
tho admittily ive been checking out ebay, for around 10 grand
u can pick up a beautiful modern bke.

anyway, im going to swap the 'g' engine over into my bike, at least that
way i can get to ride it a bit more, well hopefully after this crap weather,
i had a good spirited ride the other nite before the rattle started, took it up to wisemans ferry
with a bunch of other guys on crotch rockets, was a real buzz being able to keep up
with them in the twisties.

come on Peter, you can't let few rattles and noises stop you getting to Bourke. I you heard the noises my old girl makes you wouldn't take her to the local shop for milk, but she just got me to QLD and back ( then a week later the rear shocks let go, but should have them fixed shortly).
If you want a hand with anything pm me, I don't think you're far from me.

i dont think im going to be able to make it,
the engine in the bike has picked up a metalic rattle
coming from around the gear box and im buggered if i know
whats causing it, itl need to be pulled down.  im waiting on sum money
so i can rebuild the original engine but that wont be for a cpl of months.
im getting tired with the bike atm and seriously thinking of getting rid
of everything and buying something more modern.

Gee Pete, doesn't sound real good mate. If you need a hand with anything just give me a holler, now as far as getting something modern  :o......you know you will miss the old girl and all of her annoying traits as soon as she is gone. I have a spare set of gears and other bits and pieces that you are more than welcome to have if need be.
Cheers: Phil

Pete............look into a bright light........move your head side to side in a Zombie trance like state whilst rocking backwards and forwards.............. and repeat after me....................

I will fix my bike......i don t know what i was thinking....my previous thoughts of not coming were just an illusion...
I will fix my bike......i don t know what i was thinking....my previous thoughts of not coming were just an illusion...
I will fix my bike......i don t know what i was thinking....my previous thoughts of not coming were just an illusion...

Continue with this treatment for an hour or so..... or until convinced.......then turn off bright light............and continue with the rest of your life.
See you there with fixed bike or  break out a spray can or two and tidy  up the "G".

Hopefully it can be sorted with a middle gear transplant from your other motor  or its an easy one and you dont have to resort to getting rid of it and we see you there.
