Brian, the good part about these importers  i see , is that they" are" importing bikes into the country that otherwise may stay in overseas countries.
From research and history generally a bike such as the xs1100e that he has would sell in the USA for somewhere around the $3,000 ish mark.......now take into account he does this for a living and wants to make a dollar or two on his time and efforts in purchasing and importing along with running costs of his business here to sell it . I m sure he loves bikes ....but not enough to sell them at cost.......or bargain basement prices. As i see it.....$9,500 is his asking/starting price.......if anyone was to walk in and throw the money down....good luck to him...and can you give me the buyers details, as i ve got a few things i d like to sell that person too. I see the price as a Max and the $3,00 as a min....negotiate somewhere inbetween and someone is getting a good bike....if he won t negotiate....leave it for the above previous imaginary buyer who may (NOT!!) buy the bike.
After a period of time when that said person doesn t materialize with aforesaid "WAD"of cash....the price will begin to drop and  you will be able to negotiate a better price.I m guessing his bottom dollar would be $5,000 to $6,000.just to cover costs and make a reasonable profit. This guy does import these bikes by the container full.

These blokes that import reasonably well preserved Jap bikes from the states and sell them at a 400% markup do my head in.

Out of the box thinking as to how the top half of the fairing was fixed and rotated with the handlebars , independantly from the lower section..... reports say it achieved less wind resistance and was also available in a silver finish.I think i d rather have a  Martini as opposed to the Yankee Vetter fairings. But each to their own.I m thinking Errol would love the twin incorporated spotlight setup.............or not!
A limited edition of 500 only world wide will ensure it would be a no loss investment.
