Thanks Eveready :o))))

@Little Scotty
When you clicked the first link Eveready put up, Google (which by default is my search-engine) popped up telling me that it was sorry to inform me that "but do turn the noise up to pass Harleys and flash dicks" wasn`t found....and that`s all the Google there`s in that ;o)

Sounds like an average sort of usage for one of these 11's

There's a fair bit of info for you on this thread regarding oils - CLICK
I would still put fresh oil in after a filter change, though, as it has to be drained to do the filter, the chances of it becoming contaminated are pretty high, and oil's not that expensive compared to the cost of maybe running a bearing etc.

Thanx heaps blokes 4 the reply.Ps In light of the fact that i am adding oil to the machine between filter changes[which i do regularly]do u think i need to be doing oil changes as well?PPs i quite often use a multigrade 20/50 oil[instead of Castrol 4T]-any thoughts on this?{tell me its ok and that i aint doing damage;i dont ride up to the redline,or generally anywhere near it,but do turn the noise up to pass Harleys and flash dicks;maybe i have down played my riding behavior a little}

there's heaps of life left in the old girl yet,, just the older they get, the more critical up-keep and maintainance is

Gee, mate. That's a pretty open ended question. Do you mean life left before a top end rebuild, or just total usable life left in it as is? Mine's done nearly 290,000 klms and hasn't had the head off yet. Doesn't blow smoke, still goes like the clappers, and uses (or loses) about the same amount of oil as yours. It's on its 4th cam chain, though each one that's come out showed very little sign of stretching, just ran out of travel on the tensioner, got a bit noisy, so I change it, just for peace of mind.
It sometimes gets ridden hard (never thrashed though) and always gets the oil & filter changed at regular intervals. Motorwise, it's bulletproof. It has a second gear issue, but that only rears its head when being silly,so it's no big deal on that count.
I suppose the real question is, how long do you want it to last?
