I had a pair of XJR1100 shocks on my RH.

Only problem was the reservoir of the shock contacted a nut on the brake assembly at full compression.

I was lucky enough to get hold of a pair of good Koni's, so I sold the XJR shocks before any proper damage was done.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to solve that problem.

Note that the XJR shocks are not rebuildable. The later Ohlins ones may be, but do some research before you pay a lot for them.

Hmmm - maybe not then.

The V-Max 1200 standard shocks will fit right in, if you are looking for pre-used shocks, they are very pretty and somewhat heavier than the XS standards, and the best part is that they are often to find in mint condition at a bargain on Ebay, since they where commonly changed from day one to Wilbers or other more racing-oriented shocks (In Europe at least that is ::)).

They for some part still smell a bit of Yamaha  ;D

And Steps...backing your advice as long as we are talking new shocks, they are worth every cent, riding with Hagon-shocks myself with great pleasure right now  :)
