glad to say that shes out and doing better.

i really wanted to catch up with everyone, had spent the

Just a little anedote on Barry Sheene 2010.

I was standing watching the races, sidecar. and an old bloke came and stood next to me.  General chit-chat and I asked him what his interest in motorbikes was.  He told me the history of the bikes he had owned with such pleasure and pride.  But now?  Well he was "just a spectator".  Never just a spectator I assured him, privileged to enjoy the atmosphere, history and beauty of it all.  He loved the "smell" of the circuit.  Told me about the fuel they used, engines operated, about the cc's.   A pleasure to listen to him.

*waiting for that check flag with pride by this stage*

and then he told me about what he'd witnessed in the pits.  An old bloke, his wife helping him by holding his coffee as he drank it.  His hands were shaking, and finishing his coffee, his wife helped him onto his motorbike.  and it seemed, by watching, that the old bloke then had a spirit, an energy, a youth, and from the frail man he'd witnessed, he was up and going.

I wasn't told whether he won, or even completed the circuit.  But it said to me that teamship and yes, love and commitment, won the day.

It was a great conversation.  and a great day.

bad news peeps - I wont be able to get away at Easter -
I am needed at the club - its all hands on deck - we have a couple of big parties on and folks visiting from interstate...
such is life in the fast lane - bloody disappointing though - my CLQ friends are still going though and we can offer an overnight stay here in Chez Us at Albany Creek (Bris northside) if needed Steptoe..
