nah mate,,  :( sorry,, :), the small o-rings at the end of the oil cooler lines at the motor ;)

Hey Ev,
If your tallking about the "O" ring between the oil cooler adapter block and the motor? its no more difficult than doing the filter housing "O" ring .......they are also both the same size All you need is the right size socket to get the bolt out. If you own a run of the mill 1/2" drive socket set to 32 mm your laughing. Dont quote me but I think its 26mm

Err, Pete. If you're talking about the large flare nut fittings that connect the hoses to the cooler, I've read those posts, and too scaredy cat now to go near them. Besides, they're not leaking at all so I'm leaving well enough alone. I've just got some annoying leaks from down below, and barring fitting the old girl with some form of incontinence pad, I'm going to have to do it properly.

yep, they were the ones i was refering too,
glad there not leaking,
the ones at the bottom have small o rings
as stated by steps much easier to undo.

their not scary fella's, just gotta know how to "talk" to em ;D

the exhaust can stay in situ to do the flange bolts also,, you can get at them with a normal 5mm allen key,, kind of got to stand on your head with your left leg hooked over the right handle bar while sticking your tongue out of the right side of your mouth  :o but you can get them :P

slip round here mate, can use my long ones, it'll only take 20 minutes{to do the job} might be here longer than that tho :)

About the only other job that would need the exhausts removed would be replacing the O-rings in the oil cooler fittings in the adapter, a job that I'm going to be doing soon, and one you probably will never have to do as you're going to leave that off. Other that that, mate, it's all good.

let us know how u go when u do that, just from a cpl of
post from the uk site, those upper nuts that attach to the
oil cooler are a bugger to get off, ive never tried.

Hey steps I think you misunderstood me, I meant the cover at the LH end of the crank with the pick up coils etc.
You were probably thinking geez that  Jonesy blokes a dill how would the exhaust headers effect the valve cover :o :P

So now we got that cleared up.....whaddaya reckon about access to the cover at the LH end of the crank? mainly the bottom cap screw?

sump pan yes,,
 timing cover no, lift the tank and coil leads out of the road for that one, maybe the horn cross bracket if it runs inside the frame, you'll find the front centre bolt will be a pain to get out, I've cut mine down a bit to get it out

drop the muffler off to get to the rear wheel if it's seperate

that's about it

Which jobs require removal of exhaust or part of.
The more pics of standard systems I see it looks like the exhaust headers have to come off to get the sump off. yes? no?
What a bout access to the timing cover?
Any others jobs?
rear wheel removal?
