over the weekend i picked up a 1980g from dane, the bike had been partly
stripped with the intention of doing it up which never
eventuated, i got it for $400, the bike was mostly complete,
the bad news
the wiring loom had been butchered, im using a loom from my
81rh, the pick up coil wires had been butchered,
the brakes are shot and will need rebuilding, the wrong spark
plugs were put in, a wrong size allen bolt was put into the timing case and
cracked the upper case housing(repairable), brake
fluid had dripped over a lot of the parts that was crated up (headlight cover
tach/speedo and other bits and pieces, i was a bit dissapointed in that
the engine and frame numbers dont match tho both the frame and engine
are 80 models.
the good news is ive got most of the parts from my spare rh to get the bike running.
heres a few pics, i really like the standard and ill more than likely do a ground up resto on it.
these were the carbs that came off the bike, not sure what there off originally tho.
