I thought of that but I'll stick with the above wheel version for now - I might get hold of a R1 rear caliper and make a bracket and put that under later on - maybe
like the example in this thread....

You could set the caliper up "underslung" then no need to clear the shocky. For brake bleeding take the caliper off, turn it upright and use a piece of ply to simulate the disc, then put it back on.
The torque arm will now be in tension and can be made from plate with out getting the bendys
From memory I think I was able to use the same hose too, just by a little re-routing

just a thought

Heres one I prepared earlier 8)

once the new spacers are in it will be just proud of the swing arm - as it has beem for the life of the bike....
I have another swingarm.diff etc that is slightly different to the original in shape and section - I will measure it and report back

hey bryan,
not sure if its relevant or not,
but i swapped the standard rim and put it on my sports
the only thing i needed was a larger spacer, everything else
was sweet, brake caliper/bracket.

the other thing ive noticed, whats the go with ur axle?
it seems to be sitting to far into the swing arm
not sure if that would cause any problems when u torque
the nut up.

Solid steel so no bendy,  mount hole to the swingarm a slight friction fit,  so no rattly       8)

thats a simplier solution - did it rattle, or bend at all?

here's a simple one I did one a few years back,  a steel torque-arm off an old CB350,  shaped and cut to size,  drilled a small hole thru the XS swingarms bracket mounting point,  used a splitpin to keep in position

ok got the rear "itallic" wheel in, respaced the caliper bracket to suit......

regrettably I am unable to use the torque bracket so I propose this - the torque arm

I realise its in compression......comments please...
