The FJR1300 front master has the Yamaha mirror mount. They use the bluespot brakes on the FJR, so not sure if bore is same as XS1100.

Pricier than the MikesXS stuff, but a very solid looking piece of kit.

You could also get the clutch MC and lever and do that hydraulic clutch mod you always wanted.  ::)

^^ That sounds like a pretty good option.

My second hand FJ11 one cost $75 from the local wrecker. Also, Jonesy's mention of the mirror mount reminded me that I also then had to spend $25 on a mirror, because the original XS master had a LH thread for the mirror, whereas Yamaha apparently ditched this idea on the FJ and went to a normal RH thread.

MikesXS.com twin disc master cylinder with brake light switch $76 US. Have dealt with them in past, five days delivery from Florida to Lavington. About $35 US for shipping via USPS. All up less than cost of new M/C in Aust.

Geoff, I'm running the master cylinder off an FJ11 on mine. Same handlebar size and same 5/8" cylinder bore - even has 'Yamaha' across the top and the lever doesn't look out of place opposite the original clutch lever. You need to get the lever with it as the bit that actuates the switch is different from the original. For that matter, make sure you get one with the switch in it too...

I just clipped off the old switch (kept it though...) and crimped on two small spade connectors as that is what is used on the FJ.

Hey Geoff, does it have to be original XS?  Maybe you could widen your search criteria?
I just noticed my Yamaha 4 wheel farm bike has a master cylinder(handlebar clamp and resovoir as one piece) that would probably fit too. Its a bit gimmicky though, got one of them fancy doo dah site glasses to check fuid leve :P :D
