my advice for "ole mate" would be to put it back under its' blankets and covers and hang onto it for a few more yrs,   no doubt he'll get it, but not for a while yet

well im glad i dont live in denmark then,  :-)

ive picked up 2 complete running unregistered bikes in fair/poor
condition for $400 and $600. 

for the prices some of these have been going for id want a mint condition
bike with the original exhaust still fitted.

Happy to see you guys finally start to pay for fun, been crying envious tears everytime my brother (lives in Merrimac,QLD) has bought himself a new mechanichal toy   

Up here in Denmark a fully restored XS11 could go as high as 9-9500 Au$, a halfway decent 6500Au$ and a lucky deal for a total piece of junk, just barely able to get registration/numberplates approval from the authorities will net you a minimum of 3500 Au$...This mostly due to the fact that we have insanely high taxes on importing/registration of vehicles, around 180% of the factory-prices

its a beautiful looking bike,
but $6000?  some of the prices ppl
have been asking for these bikes lately has
at best been xsesive,  im glad i got mine when
i did and only paid $1500.  :-)
