Google Parts N More i have just bought some xs1100 parts from them there prices are pretty good and there service is second to none they are in Canada but my order that was worth $500 was in my hand 4 days after i placed the order and it was well packaged.if you place an order i would suggest you buy some brake caliper kits, carburreter kits, brake pad ,gasket kit and master cylinder kits the price is good

all available with the click of the google button,,

here's a couple of starters          regarding gaskets - contact Bert Kingston Brisvagis - 07 38681662
the guy is a legend for older bikes...

you can also try team moto,, inside marooka yamaha, in brissy,,

not sure where you are but your closest city would have something similiar

for a cheap alternative for rings,, Makzys' older brother says ford pistons are the exact sizing, in every which way

it seems to be where they all let go,,they crack behind the bolt in front of the cam chain journal, obviously the difference in torque pulls at the light walled casting of the head,,

mine was leaking some yrs ago, got an air compressor behind a jet of paint thinners and blew around and thru the crack,  pushed and wiped some silastic inside and out of the crack, and left the bolt out to aleviate the prob, stayed there till a serious rebuild yrs later-------------------------------------but you've already got it out :-X

Welcome aboard HMC.

Are you having trouble getting it out of the frame or getting the head off?

Thanks for response. Started pulling engine out today but pretty tight. What needs to come off to get it out? We have it loose and swinging from the roof but it keeps getting jammed.
Will take some photos of the damage but it is around what looks to be the cam chain tensioner. Was pumping  oil the front and over the pipes so quite a sight.  Am assuming its standard motor but my mechanicing is strictly bush, so will have to refer to a higher body to get it confirmed.
Bike is in Howlong NSW
Thanks
