The guy lists the bike as "Date of manufacture":  May 1978

He must have got that from the compliance plate on the frame neck.
Soooooo, I think it's pretty certain that the base bike is an "78E" but has been totally stuffed with add ons.

Mind you, what he put on he probably liked the look of and as often is the case had no intention to keep it original.

I wonder if we'll see him flogging off the other bit in Ebay soon?

The tank looks too small for a 78E.  More like the small tank for the RH

For that fairing to work, it has to have a round headlight. That's what doesn't fit the scheme of things.
I had a mate in Brissie years ago who had one on an RH. Had it mounted very high to suit the RH bars, but it worked. This one doesn't, at least for me.

Besides that, what's wrong with the Mad max / Stone era???????

True. Think I prefer rickman gear on kawasaki's or old CB hondas though, seems to suit their lines a bit better.
Looks a bit odd on an XS.
I had an XS with a windjammer fairing, and while they work, even they looked a bit odd. But, its about the riding really eh! That bikes out Canowindra NSW way now.

Nah mate! It's just that Rickman 3/4 fairing and the colour that gives that illusion. More the reason that it may be had cheaply.

Carbs look like old ones too.

New piston rings?? - I never like an engine that has been messed about with. Especially when the owner decides to sell shortly after he's done major surgery on it.

CLICKY
This is an odd one. The guy's got it listed as a 78 model, but it looks to me like an RH due mainly to the sidecovers shape with Standard forks and instruments fitted. Might go for a good price
