Let me rephrase that statement, please. I just went out and found what's needed to do the job.

Ingredients: I piece of brooker rod ( or a long bolt), 2 nuts, 3 washers and 1/2" and 1" sockets.
Make sure the washer that goes in between the 1/2" socket and the insert is small enough to fit through the eye as it is tapered. Needs about 1/8th" clearance

Put in vise and wind 1/2" socket & washer into the eye of the shock -

...... and into the 1" socket recess. Undo the nut and pop the bush and insert out onto the bench.

Do the same to the donor shock and you've got both bushes out. You may want to substitute a large washer for the 1/2" socket for reassemby as it will give a more even pressure across both the sleeve and bush and might make it easier to keep it aligned as it goes in. Apply some glue to the rubber bush when you start to press it back in to prevent it moving when in use
