The tyres are 4 years old with 4 thousand Kms on them.  It was going to be another "dumb" question when the times comes to replace them, what members recommended. The tyres are still good, no cracks or anything and they seem to grip ok.

I've been using Metzler ME33 /ME99 combo since those tyres came out.
The model names etc have been changed, upgraded - the front is now called a LaserTec.  The rear is a Marathon???
I used lots of different tyres on mine over probably 10-15 years until I settled on them.

cheers

Ken,

number three carby is preset at the factory and all the others should be synced to it.

If you have a manual for it then have a look at resetting number three back to original specs first, just in case someone has had a bit of a play with it.

Looks good though!

I take it you've pulled the slide needles out to see if they're all set the same

was #3 plug blacker or whiter than the others

not to get picky,, but #3 isn't running the same as the other 3
I'll let you get picky  ;D

I don't know if it effects it or not, but #3 was the worse carby when I did a carby balance.
It was out quite a bit.
I noticed the #3 spark plug when I changed them out.
I'll check the plugs again after I take the girl on a descent ride.

Cheers

I put braided lines on my XS at the same time as I stripped the calipers and put in new pistons and seals. Made a huge difference overall.

I got a full set of Goodridge hoses from the UK for a bit over 100 bucks

Note that those are for an RH (S model in the UK). The same seller has kits for other XS11s too.

Hi Ken,
Yep braided lines, I think it needs it lol lol. It came with the bike as well as the tyres.
I really don't know what I'm running at the moment  :o

One of the first items I checked were the condition of all the pads, all were perfect. The second was to bleed out all the fluids. I can see why some owners upgrade the brakes.

The tyres are 4 years old with 4 thousand Kms on them.  It was going to be another "dumb" question when the times comes to replace them, what members recommended. The tyres are still good, no cracks or anything and they seem to grip ok.

It was raining cats & dogs when I rode it home, so they are ok in the wet.

Cheers

Nice looking bike bet you it runs as good as it looks, are they braided lines on the front brakes, if they are do you notice much difference with them & what tires are you running front & rear do you think they are alright, they do not make the Michelin's i last used on my XS even though i did not get real good mileage off them i could just about ride up a telegraph pole & not lose traction

A pic of my bike after some cosmetic detailing.

The forks came up well considering how much corrosion there was.
Also a bit of chrome done on the headlight and blinker brackets.
