Hi lumox,

It was a bit rich, but those parts were too far gone. There is only one company here in Toowoomba and he knows it.

The other chrome on the bike wasn't too bad, I've been attacking it with metal polish on the odd occasion.
It's surprising how well it turns out with a bit of elbow grease and a buffer.

Hi Ken,

Chrome work looks great. $180 i think i'll keep looking for parts, as i was thinking of getting front fender, rear tail light bracket and indicator lens x 4 done.
I've been riding Yamahas since 1976. Only other bike was a Honda CB900F 1978.
last bike ridden XS1100RH 83 1995 sold the bike to fund an O/S trip. Have a XS1100E for 12 yrs and ready to restore.

Makes it a bit hard not to notice when you've taken a pic to highlight your shiny new chromework and right in the centre is this rusty bracket. A quick spray of black would make them much less obtrusive. Are you going to fit some lights back on it, or just get new bolts?

Doh, I hope no one was going to notice.

It is a spotlight bracket, was going to leave them off for the time being, but had to bolt them back on.
The bolts for the indicator brackets were too long without the brackets.

Hi, Ken,
Looks to be coming along nicely.
Q - Whats the bit of rusty angle that's bolted to the lower clamp in the photo?

Yep  :D
It looks real good, the 2 headlight brackets, 2 front indicator brackets and the steering nut.
It cost $180 all up, a bit exe.

Both of them were just too far gone, rusty, to try to polish up.

Bugger,
Took the bits to the Chromers nearly 4 weeks ago.
He was to add it to his daily work, only a few bits, "not a problem".

Went to visit him after my trip away after 2 1/2 weeks still not done, "it's in the nickel tank" ready Sat PM.

Went there today, Monday, he's away the shop's closed.
I want to get the baby on the road again.

Polished up the front forks, not as good as a professional but far better than what they were.
Did the front mud guard and some extra chrome bits like the indicators and dome nuts.
They all came up rather nice.

Will visit him tomorrow, odds on they will not be ready.
