I lurve the LC8. I regret selling my 950 Adventure

I had it for a couple of years and stuck 50+ kay on it. It went home on the back of a truck twice - once from Oran park and once from Griffith. Both times it was the seal between the wqater pump & engine failing. The first time, the bike shp just replaced the seal, when they should've know that the pump shaft was the cause of the seal failing. But they didn't believe me when i told them.
Anyway, that wasn't a huge job and one that is best fixed around 30-40k intervals.
There is a stainless steel oil filter that one can buy. The down side to putting one of them in is that the paper oil filter failure is the give away that the water pump seal has failed - the water gets into the filter, swells the paper, blocks oil and the top of the engine lets you know in a very definite way that all is not well.
That was about the only problem I had with mine, that I can think of. Well, except from smacking a cow. And soft front rims, but they weren't cast. I sold it because it was too big to ride in places I was trying to ride.
Enjoy.
