Thats correct Jonesy, its only the peripherals, I talked to a tig welder but him finding time is an issue. I haven't stripped it completely down yet, heads off and valves out for servicing, realising it will take a bit longer than anticipated but I am positive I will sort it out.

There is no doubt they can be saved by a compotent welder. Looks like the crankcase sealing faces arent damaged just the peripherels

Hi Gents;
I have a question, I probably already know the answer to, would you bother with these cases, do you think someone has the skill to weld them? or do I continue my search and take a chance of getting a set, probably from the states off eBay that are serviceable. Even on the other side the alternator cover is a big blob of bog, disappointed is an understatement.
