Hi,

I got the XV750SE brakes seals from Wemoto (these guys have always been reliable) and put everything back together, including the new brake lines.

Wow, how nice it is now! If somebody had told me how nice the first time is with the new brake lines, I would have done it years ago.  If I had listened!

Hi,

Thanks, I'll report on the results when I have some.   Looking at K&L website and catalog, I can find a model (XV750SE) that Wemoto lists the part for that seems to have the same caliper.  Checking the images for that model, the caliper looks to be the same so I reckon I'm in with a good chance :)

The caliper is a pivoting design and the pad ware is a bit inconsistent, good for looking but I can see why they changed back to the conventional design after a couple of years.

Hi,

After messing around with the old brake seals, I reckon that I won't put them back in because there's a better than even chance that they will leak.  So I'm looking for new seals or seal kits.  The part number for the XS1100SH seals is 2G2-W0047-00 which is for the swing caliper style which mounts in the fork leg with a single bolt.  I can find something similar online at https://www.cruzinimage.net/ which sell the 1J3-W0047-00 seal kit which is for the standard model caliper.

The brake piston is 42.8mm in diameter (ish) and the seal is 3.5mm thick.

Does anybody know if these two parts are interchangeable?
