Lambs, these blokes know what they are doing they have made studs for race cars so I'd go with their expertise even made stuff for Bathurst cars.
As OEM stuff is no longer available these work well.

I'm sure they do, call it professional curiosity.  As for the taxi's, having helped one of the teams with an engine failure at one time (it wasn't the engine studs  ;) ) they certainly know how to throw around the $$$$.....

The threads are rolled not cut and yep coating them is a good idea but even if you didn't they would outlast us.

In terms of the threads - I would certainly hope so, but rolling (and any other machining) would be done with the bar in the annealed condition.      Zinc plating is cheap insurance and probably a small additional cost over the studs themselves.    Personal choice, of course.

S99 is a variation on 4340 (the Brits would argue the other way around, but anyway) and certainly has the strength potential but would need to know the final heat-treatment spec as machining would be prior HT.   Plating would be mandatory, otherwise you'll end up with a rusted mess after awhile - all the studs are exposed on the xs11 engine.

I have one of those stud removal tools.....the longest ones in particular still wouldn't budge even with lots of heat (MAP gas torch).   Fortunately I was able to remove and replace the badly rusted studs and treated the rest.

Not plated but can be when you get them, they are solid studs not light weight stuff.
Mine were installed in 2013 tensioned up and have never needed re-tensioning.
I sent them my old studs and from memory had 5 sets made up back then.
Tim was a very nice bloke to deal with, knew exactly what was needed, made them in S99 steel.
TK Precision in the UK, who made them for me, have also made studs for Bathurst race cars.
Ask Mal Pitman his impression.

This link is the specs of the studs they sent to me
Cylinder Studs

and here is a link to the S99 steel specs

I had a special stud removal tool from Snapon that made it easier, will put the part number here when I can find it. In the mean time here is a picture I found.

I'm curious.....how high is 'high' ?   Also, are they plated ?

Speaking from experience, the originals are very hard to get out of the cases.    I ended up replacing 4 with NOS items in the current build.    Those 4 were badly corroded and pitted, in particular.   Probably would have failed eventually.    The rest weren't too bad.    I tried to get them all out but they wouldn't budge no matter how much heat and force, so I cleaned them up, treated the rust and coated with a high-heat paint.
