I'm sort of in the same boat as Jonesy, as far as being easy as to where it is. Hey Ri Gar everyone is entitled to a suggestion "Darwin", Hmmmm, from what I recall in 98, it was Flat roads and more Flat roads, it was also one of the hottest summers on record that year and we broke down between Mataranka Springs and Katherine, tell you a good story about that when we catch up. ;)
Cheers
Lou

Got a mate coming out from the UK for next years Rally, I'm mostly likely taking a couple or 3 weeks off around that time, so any destination how near or far is fine by me.

Can't help but think all of Jonesys suggestions are pretty close to his place, maybey we could just have it at jonesys so he wouldn't have to ride to far.
But the mountseaveiw suggested by bretts is in a good location.
But if the latest aquisition is ready in eleven months the corners won't be quite as important
a move north or south would be great
But wherever it is too  be held I will be there

Mudgee Big 4 caravan park looks good.....was that where you were getting a quote/info from Jonesy?
Did they get back to you ? Any follow up on the catering?

I was told of a place today that had its own spit so we could do something like that. Also thought today that lunch is often incorporated into a ride so that would drop the catering cost.

Theres always the pub option. Kandos is on top of the scarpment with an excellent day ride down into the bylong valley

Kandos would be okay, I competed in a 4WD comp there once.  We camped at the event but the town itself seemed okay, from what little I saw.  It's a cement town from memory, Bryan would need to keep his wits about him...I remember seeing a number of dead wombats enroute.

My thinking is that can be a bonus as you can make the ride as long or as short as you want.
