Hi all have worked out a way to support  a guard for the spin on oil filter with out the drama of working around the center stand its all self supporting from the front

Hi Geoff
its fairly simple some of the mesh  looks like the same thing a pub tray is made of
a handy hills clothes  hoist  or pole for the bend
I got the tail end hooked through the spring hook retainer for the center stand
this could be a problem if you got a center stand but the design can be varied
instead of a long tail  put a rivet in and have a T piece that spans to each frame rail under the motor

was thinking closely along the same lines Tim, where did the rear of the guard finish and how did you fasten it,,

Hi all
I know a few people have reservations  with the spin on oil filter mod
ie the filter sitting there like a pair of dogs nuts/what if a wayward projectile gets flicked up and punctures filter in the middle of nowhere
answer a simple guard looks ok easy to get on/off plenty of air flow and the spin on filter sits higher between the pipes than the standard filter hatch and oddly enough the bike runs a little cooler  win win
the pics will give you the idea

Hi all
its on finaly had a few set backs  its hooked up and functional if any one else is going with this mod  you will need 2 oil filter hatch orings 1 for the new adpter and one to replace the oring that lives above the oilcooler adpter plate ,other than that it was a fairly easy swap
extra thanks to Xtian and M. Pittman
